Package of Danco faucet washers.
Individual Danco faucet washer.
I have yet to see a Corona 3 (folding type writer) whose rubber feet hadn't turned to swamp mud and cemented the machine to its case. Mine was no different.

After digging the rotted rubber out of the foot foundations of the machine, I repaired to Lowes' Hardware Store ("Ferretería," according to their sign) and in the plumbing section ("Plomería," according to their sign) purchased Danco Aqua-Seal Washers for American Standard, fitting 2K-2H & 2C, product No. 804l0. These are rubber washers for faucet repair. They come in packages of two and cost about $2.65 per package--if you live in a relatively low cost state like Pennsylvania.

Danco washer plugs into where the rubber foot used to be.

The washers are in the shape of a top hat, the smaller diameter portion fitting exactly the opening in the foot foundation of the type writer. You insert the top of the "hat" into the foundation and it will snap in snuggly without glue. Voila, you have new shoes for your Corona, and you don't even have to paint them black!

Corona, dancing happily in its new shoes!

Our Corona 3 Folding type writer sports a serial number that dates it to l9l4. Cosmetically and mechanically, it is still in pristine condtion, thanks, especially, to its new Danco washer shoes.

Corona and me, so happy together!
